There were no changes at the top of the GPB Football Rankings this week, even though Class 3A No. 1 Cedar Grove lost. The Saints fell 28-19 to Class 7A Colquitt County but retained their poll position.

GPB Sports' Jon Nelson, who votes on the rankings, said, "Traditionally, I try not to drop a team in the rankings if there's a forfeit or a cancellation involved. The same applies for a team that loses to a school in a higher classification."

There were several new teams that entered or re-entered the rankings this week: Grayson at No. 10 in Class 7A; Brunswick at No. 9 in Class 6A;  St. Pius at No. 6 and Decatur at No. 10 in Class 5A; New Hampstead at No. 9 and Stephenson at No. 10 in Class 4A; Sandy Creek at No. 9 in Class 3A; Heard County at No. 10 in Class 2A; Schley County at No. 9 and Lincoln County at No. 10 in Class A Private.

"My polls may not have the ups and downs that the rest of us had this week, just some shuffling of teams that are of the same caliber ... and not by a lot," Nelson said.
