Quarterback Gavin Hall ran for one touchdown and threw for another to help Harrison defeat Allatoona 20-7 in the Class 6A final on Friday, giving the Hoyas the first football championship in school history. 

Hall threw a 49-yard touchdown pass to James Ziglor in the second quarter and scored on a 2-yard run with 1:11 left in the third quarter. Hall’s running touchdown came one play after Dante Marshall intercepted Brandon Carter’s pass and returned it 31 yards to the 2.

The game was played in a steady rainstorm at Georgia State Stadium. 

No. 2 Harrison (15-0) never trailed. The Hoyas scored first on a 40-yard Chris Lowery field goal and led 13-7 after Lowery converted from 40 with 2:11 in the third quarter.

Hall completed 6 of 10 passes for 117 yards and one touchdown and rushed six times for 23 yards. He was intercepted once and sacked once. Ziglor caught two passes for 88 yards. Mason Babay was the leading rusher with 33 yards.

No. 10 Allatoona (11-3-1) was led by Alex Wilson, who carried 31 times for 122 yards. The Buccaneer’s only touchdown was an 18-yard pass from Dante Marshall to Asante Das. Marshall completed 3 of 14 passes for 39 yards. 

Harrison played in the 2000 state championship game, but lost to Parkview.
