No. 1-ranked Cartersville scored 24 unanswered points and rolled to a 52-42 win over No. 2 Sandy Creek on GPB’s Football Fridays in Georgia.

The game was tied 28-28 in the middle of the second quarter when Cartersville pulled away. The Purple Hurricanes got a 71-yard from Sam Phillips and a field goal from Oscar Hernandez to take a 38-28 lead into halftime, then added two touchdown runs from Harrison Allen to put the game away.

Quarterback Tee Webb threw two touchdown passes, one to Phillips and one to Devonte Ross. Evan Slocum also ran for two scores for Cartersville. 

Cartersville (8-0, 3-0) takes over first place in Region 7-4A, with Sandy Creek (6-1, 2-1) dropping into a second-place tie with Cedartown and Troup.
