GPB Football Fridays in Georgia will open its playoff coverage with a Class 7A match between Camden County at Walton at Raider Valley in Marietta.
Camden County finished the regular season with a 7-3 record and secured third place in Region 1-7A with a 28-24 win over Tift County in the final game. The Wildcats bounced back from two uncharacteristic seasons that saw them miss the playoffs. They are under the guidance of second-year coach Bob Sphire, who helped build the North Gwinnett program that last year won a state championship.
Walton was 9-1 during the regular season, losing only to Roswell in what turned out to be for the Region 4-7A championship. The Raiders are trying to improve on last year's season, which saw them win 11 straight before losing in the second round of the playoffs to Colquitt County.
The two teams have met only one time, with Camden County prevailing 45-14 in the 2005 playoffs.
