The Marist defense forced five turnovers and sophomore Lincoln Parker scored three touchdowns to lead the War Eagles to a 40-20 win over Lovett.

Marist forced turnovers on three consecutive possessions in the first period to set the pace. They offense ran for 181 yards and threw for 197 yards in a game played at Hughes-Spalding Stadium.

Marist led 40-6 after three quarters and the remainder of the game was played with a running clock.

It was the season opener for Marist. Lovett dropped to 0-2.  Marist now leads the series 5-2.
