georgia's forests

It's going down... we're yelling timber! Join GPB Education and the Georgia Forestry Foundation for a live exploration of Georgia's forests. On May 7th from 10-10:30 am ET, we'll be live streaming this educational program from The Jones Center at Ichauway in Baker County, Georgia.

Designed for students in grades 3-8, this live exploration will help students better understand the environmental and economic benefits of trees.

Students will uncover the life cycle of a tree, investigate prescribed fires, discover the myriad of forestry products, and unearth what makes Georgia the #1 forestry state in the country.

This event will include interactive elements, such as polls and experts who will be available to answer students' questions.

Georgia's Forests Live Exploration will be available on demand online after May 7th with supplemental classroom resources for grades K-12. This program will be televised on GPB-TV and live streamed on gpb.org/trees.
