GHSA 1A Public Final: Marion vs. Charlton Football Fridays in Georgia
Lorenzo Smothers caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from Justin Eckert seconds into the fourth quarter for the game’s only touchdown as Marion County beat Charlton Co. to win the Class A Public School championship. Smothers gained 105 yards on 20 carries. The Marion defense held Charlton to just six first downs and 137 yards. The title comes in just the Eagles eighth season of football.
