In a battle between defending state champions, 3A Buford’s dominating ground game was too much for 5A Gainesville and the Wolves dominated the Red Elephants for a 38-14 victory. Buford rushed for 344 yards, led by Joshua Thomas’ 137, 77 on one touchdown run. Wolves defense held Gainesville QB Deshaun Watson to 195 yards passing, stifling the Red Elephant offense throughout.
