In a battle of traditional state powers, Sandy Creek took advantage of Carrollton mistakes and defeated the Trojans 30-7 to clinch the 5-3A title, its fifth straight region championship. The Patriots built a 16-0 lead at halftime and expanded it to 30-0 at the end of three quarters behind their high-powered offense led by Cole Garvin, Demarre Kitt, Delvin Weems and Eric Swinney.
