GHSA 5A Final: Gainesville vs. Ware County Football Fridays in Georgia
Winless in six previous trips to the finals, Deshaun Watson finally led Gainesville to the promised land. The junior QB accounted for five TD’s and more than 400 total yards to lead Gainesville to a 49-13 win over Ware County in the Class 5A championship game. Watson threw three scoring passes, two to Caleb Hayman, to give him 50 for the year. His two TD runs gave him 24 for the season.
