A federal judge in Atlanta denied a request filed by President Donald Trump to decertify President-elect Joe Biden's win in Georgia.

Judge Mark Cohen of the Northern District of Georgia, a Barack Obama appointee, issued the ruling from the bench Tuesday after a hearing that was only open to members of the public through the physical courtroom.

The latest extraordinary attempt to overturn Georgia's 5 million votes was denied because Georgia's November vote totals were certified by the secretary of state and the governor already, Cohen said. A full order with his explanation is not yet available.

Trump and the Georgia Republican Party chairman David Shafer filed an election contest in Fulton County last month seeking to challenge the November election with allegations of widespread fraud from out of state, dead or otherwise ineligible voters — something state officials forcefully denied.

Judges at every level of the federal court system, from Fulton County to the U.S. Supreme Court, have rejected requests by Trump and his allies to undo Georgia's elections, many times for failing to prove standing to make claims, waiting too late to sue or other procedural issues.
