More than 50 policymakers from across the country gathered in Atlanta for the New Deal Forum Idea Summit, which focuses on supporting state and local elected officials in effective governance. The event featured a video welcome from Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and remarks from Georgia Democratic Representative Scott Holcomb, who emphasized Georgia’s crucial role as a battleground state. The New Deal Forum, a leadership organization dedicated to developing exceptional public officials, helps connect leaders to share ideas and improve government performance beyond partisan politics.

Several Georgia lawmakers, including House Minority Caucus Chair Tanya Miller and Representative Sam Park, participated as members of the New Deal Forum. They highlighted the importance of governing with data and facts while addressing key issues like healthcare, economic security, and housing. The summit offered a chance for these leaders to exchange ideas and collaborate on policies that improve the quality of life for their communities, with hopes that their shared efforts will translate into future electoral and legislative successes for Democrats.
