Republican-led group sues to block Georgia rule requiring hand count of ballots

A Republican-led group is challenging Georgia's new requirement that poll workers count the total number of ballots by hand. Eternal Vigilance Action is asking a judge to overturn the rule, saying it's another example of the State Election Board overstepping its legal authority.

Election in Georgia's Fulton County to be observed by independent monitor

Georgia's Fulton County has hired a team of independent monitors to observe its operations for this year's general election. The monitoring of Fulton's elections was proposed during the discussion of a resolution of a State Election Board case against the county stemming from an election recount in 2020.

Raffensperger blasts proposed rule requiring hand count of ballots at Georgia polling places

Georgia's secretary of state has come out against election rule changes pending before the State Election Board, specifically rejecting a proposal to count ballots by hand at polling places on election night. At a meeting in July, the board advanced a proposal that would require three separate poll workers to count ballots at voting precincts on election night.

Georgia officials say Kennedy, 2 others have signatures for presidential ballot as disputes remain

Three independent and third-party candidates got one step closer to appearing on Georgia's presidential ballot on Tuesday. But legal challenges still loom. Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West and Claudia De la Cruz of the Party for Socialism and Liberation each collected more than the 7,500 signatures needed to qualify.

Georgia website that lets people cancel voter registrations briefly displayed personal data

Georgia election officials are encouraging people to use a state website to cancel voter registrations when someone moves out of state or dies. But Monday's rollout by Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger was marred by a glitch that allowed people to access a voter's date of birth, driver's license number and last four numbers of a Social Security number.

Groups readying mass voter challenges in Georgia’s 2024 elections. There’s an app for that.

The age of technologically assisted mass voter challenges is well upon us, and these tools could have a major impact on the 2024 elections. Fans of the apps say they will help prevent cheating by removing invalid voters from the rolls, making it harder for bad actors to cast fake votes. Opponents say all they will do is insert chaos into the process.
