A nearly buried chair on a lift at Mammoth Mountain in mid-March. The resort had its snowiest winter on record, having recorded over 700 inches at the base area and nearly 900 inches at the mountain's summit.

California's Mammoth Mountain is wrapping up its second-longest season after 275 days

Atmospheric rivers brought record-breaking snowfall to the mountain over the winter, allowing the resort to stay open into August. It will close just shy of 100 days before the new season starts.
