Live sports will make a return to Georgia next month at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Folds of Honor QUICK TRIP 500 will take place on Sunday, June 7, without any spectators.

Two other events, a stock car race and a truck race, will also be held at AMS on Saturday, June 6.

Gov. Brian Kemp announced NASCAR’s news plans in Georgia on Thursday.

“I want to thank our partners with NASCAR and Atlanta Motor Speedway for adapting to protect public health throughout our fight with COVID-19,” Kemp said in a release.

“As we continue the measured process of reopening our state, I am confident in their plan to return to racing safely, and I’m excited to join with patrons across the country in celebrating the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 come June.”

Kyle Busch, who won the 2019 Cup Championship, told NBC that the sport is in a unique position.

“I think it’s a great opportunity for us to go out there and be one of the first major sports back on TV,” Busch said. “To be back doing what we all love to do and putting on a good show for the race fans.”

Pre-event medical screenings will take place for the competitors, crew members, employees and broadcast crews.

This Sunday, drivers will take the track in Darlington, South Carolina for the fifth race of the season after a two-month hiatus. It’ll be the first of four Cup Series races in 11 days.

Kevin Harvick currently leads the group with 164 points, followed closely by Joey Logano and Chris Elliot.
