On this edition of Political Rewind, the shockwaves reverberating from the massacres in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio dominate the news headlines across the country and here in Georgia.

President Donald Trump travels to both cities today to show solidarity with those mourning the devastating events, but the reactions from residents to his visits are sharply divided. He is bound to face protestors who say it is his rhetoric which encouraged the hatred and violence.

Meanwhile, members of Congress are showing sudden interest in passing bi-partisan gun legislation. Will they go far enough to satisfy the most passionate gun critics without alienating pro-gun advocates?

Plus, the AJC finds at least six candidates in the crucial 6th and 7th district U.S. Congressional races are not residents of those districts they are running.
