On this edition of Political Rewind, lawmakers, lobbyists and citizens here to promote favored legislation or just soak in the spectacle have all gathered under the gold dome today as the 2019 session rushes to a close.

Bills calling for state control of Hartsfield Jackson Airport, the expansion of medical marijuana laws, money for transit and ride shares in small towns and rural Georgia are all still up in the air as legislators scramble to finish their work and head home.

But this is also ‘anything can happen day,’ when last-minute amendments promise tax breaks or favored treatment for some and sudden turns of fortune for the worse for others.  

We’ll talk to some of the key players in this year’s session and get perspective from journalists who’ve been covering all the action.
