Atlanta was well represented during the 2019 Oscars on Sunday,  both in the nominations and on stage.

Atlanta congressman and civil rights legend John Lewis introduced "Green Book," which won Best Picture, saying the film provided a window into the segregated South of the past.

Marvel's "Black Panther," which was filmed in Atlanta, came away with three Oscars for costume design, production and music.

Morehouse graduate Spike Lee, who was born in Atlanta, took home his first Oscar for "BlacKkKlansman."

"First Man," which was also filmed in Georgia, won in the best Best Visual Effects category.

 

"Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse," which stars the voice of Lithonia native Shameik Moore, won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
