Democrat Stacey Abrams speaks at a press conference in Atlanta on her statewide jobs tour.

Small businesses were the focus of Democratic Gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams’ job tour stop in Atlanta today.

It's the second pillar of her five-point jobs plan.

Yesterday on the coast, Abrams toured an ironworkers apprentice workshop in Pooler, where she announced a plan to create 22,000 apprenticeships in Georgia by 2022.

Democratic Gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams continued her jobs tour in Atlanta, focusing on small businesses.

Today, she was joined by a trio of women who own small businesses – Courtney DeDi of DiOGi Pet Services, Tammy Williams of Tammy’Dele Films and Kristin Allin of Bread and Butterfly. All three spoke of the challenges – and successes – they faced while getting their businesses off the ground.

Abrams continued to reiterate her plan was for Georgians across the state, and not just Metro Atlanta.

"Today I want to talk about small business growth, because I'm announcing my commitment to a $10 million fund that will improve small business financing of the state of Georgia," Abrams said. “That’s $10 million thad help you launch your second shop, expand the number of employees you’re hiring, make certain that you can get that training program done [or] that you can buy the equipment that you need…”

She added the state’s film industry is one of many areas where Georgia’s small businesses are seeing success.

Abrams faces off against her Republican challenger, Secretary of State Brian Kemp in the general election November 6th.
