On today’s "Political Rewind" we look at where the GOP race for governor stands in these early days of the contest. A new poll shows Lt. Governor Casey Cagle with a significant lead. But the poll reveals a surprising result in the battle for second place.

The panel also weighs in on the latest developments in the controversy over the cheerleaders who protested during the playing of the national anthem at a KSU football game. The state Board of Regents wants to know who at the University ordered the cheerleaders to stay off the field as the anthem was being played in subsequent games.

Plus, Jon Ossoff lost his bid to replace Tom Price in the 6th District special congressional election. But he may be making moves to challenge winner Karen Handel in the 2018 election cycle. The panel shares their thoughts on whether he will be a viable challenger next year.

And the panel discusses this week’s controversies coming out of the Trump White House: A fight over how presidents console families who’ve lost a service member in battle and the ongoing Trump feud with the NFL over how players should comport themselves during the playing of the national anthem.
