GOP Baseball Practice Shooting Sparks Incendiary Responses

Today on “Political Rewind,” a shocking event this morning on a baseball field near Washington D.C. brings out the worst in partisan politics. Five people were injured in an attack that reportedly began by the shooter asking if the men on the field were Republicans or Democrats.
The wounded include House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who is reportedly in stable condition. The shooter, identified as James T. Hodgkinson, was killed. Hodgkinson's social media posts indicate a he was a man who had strong anti-Trump sentiments and that fact is sparking some incendiary, hyper-partisan response.
The 6th District election is less than a week away. Massive amounts of money have been spent on this race, especially on the Democratic side, yet Ossoff and Handel are locked in a statistical dead heat. It's predicted that whether they win or lose the actual race, the Democrats will spin a strong showing as evidence the state is going purple. But if the GOP loses in a district that's historically voted red, how will the party explain that?
Georgia has two seats in the Trump Cabinet, Tom Price (Secretary of Health & Human Services) and Sonny Perdue (Secretary of Agriculture), we listen to their contributions to an awkward montage of praise for the president.
And finally, we revisit Tuesday's testimony from Attorney General Jeff Sessions as he appears in front of the Senate Intel Committee. As Sessions was questioned regarding Russian influence in the elections and the recent firing of James Comey, it did not go well for many committee members, who seemed only able to elicit an "I don't recall."
