Today on “Political Rewind,” the NRA flies in a big gun. Donald Trump is the first sitting president since Reagan to address the annual NRA convention, which is being held for the next few days in Atlanta. While he's here, Trump will host a fundraiser for Republican Karen Handel. Is that a plus for her camp in the 6th District showdown with Democrat Jon Ossoff?

Also in the lineup today, the Trump tax cuts were announced just as we went to air. The proposed cuts are dramatic and would slash fees paid by corporations in a move to spur economic growth. Critics fear it will lead to ballooning federal deficits.

Is another name going into the hat in the governor's race? State Sen. Hunter Hill says he'll join the competition which already includes Secretary of State Brian Kemp, and Lieutenant Gov. Casey Cagle.
