Relief efforts are underway for those affected by the storms that rolled through Southwest Georgia last weekend.

The American Red Cross is operating three emergency shelters in South Georgia, located in Cook, Doughtery, and Turner counties.

In addition to monetary contributions, The Red Cross is accepting physical supplies.

Drop off sites for these items are available at any Goodwill location.

Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief is accepting donations and offering training to any volunteers who want to assist in the clean up effort.

For those still searching for a family member or a loved one, the Albany police department encourages citizens to contact local law enforcement and file a missing persons report.

The following are a list of organizations accepting donations and looking for volunteers able to help with the recovery effort. Clothing, food, water, blankets, and hygiene products are among the items most needed. Several organizations are also accepting monetary contributions.
