This weekend you can go back to the 90s, and head on over to Perry for some fabulous wine! It’s time to talk about all the fun things you can get out and do and with some ideas, we have Jackie K. Cooper, a film critic with the Huffington Post and local harpist Betsy Fitzgerald.

Here are Betsy’s items for this week's show: Library Ballroom '90s Extravaganza!

Throw on your best flannel, get out those terrible wind-suits, and grab your Doc Marten's. Dress in your best nineties gear and dance the night away with the band Far From Over playing all our favorite hits.

Perry downtown merchants invite the public to make their toasts to kick off summer at a specialty wine tasting.

Perry Downtown Merchants Association is sponsoring its fourth annual wine tasting event on Friday, June 3, from 5-8 p.m. The event will also feature live music.  Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the event for $15. Participating merchants have tickets at their stores.

Participants start the event at the parking lot on Carroll Street between Two Friends and James Farmer, where they will receive a wristband and card that they show to receive one sample of wine at each of the participating merchants. Each merchant will have a different wine. A few participating merchants will serve non-alcoholic beverages.

The participating merchants include Two Friends, James Farmer, Ashley Marie’s, Cossart Design, Nine Hundred Ten, Peach Palette, Initial Reaction, Davida’s Hair Salon, Mossy Creek Natural, Antiques on Carroll, Village Boutique, Perry Farmers Market, Gentry Downtown Market, Simply Southern Sweets, Eyewear Boutique, Perry Belly Dance Studio and Split Endz.

Identification of participants will be checked to ensure they are at least 21 years of age.

To ensure the safety of the pedestrians, the following streets will close after 3 p.m. on the day of the event: Jernigan Street from Main Street to Carroll, and Carroll Street from the 700 through 900 blocks.

Event proceeds will assist the association with sponsoring future events and community service projects.
