Understanding the Georgia Secondary Numeracy Project

This video provides an explanation of the Framework for Statistical Reasoning for all grade levels, K-12. The framework is a part of the Essential Instructional Guidance adopted by the State Board of Education as an expectation for teaching and learning for the adopted standards. Data and Statistical Reasoning is an important big idea within Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards for all grade levels and courses. The Framework for Statistical Reasoning provides guidance to teachers on how to engage students in the four-part statistical problem-solving cycle with the goal of helping them to develop data and statistical literacy and reasoning. Statistical literacy is important for students to become engage, informed citizens in the world. A leading expert in statistics education provides information and strategies to support teachers with the implementation of this framework in the mathematics classroom.

This video provides an overview of the supports for learner variability to support students with understanding Georgia's K-12 Mathematics Standards. The strategies and supports included in this video can be used to increase student outcomes for all learners, including, but not limited to students with disabilities.
