The end of the school year is upon us, and with Memorial Day on Monday, summer has at least unofficially begun.

For many Georgia teenagers, that probably means they’re on the hunt for some kind of summer job. Most likely, it won’t be an easy search – teen unemployment here is roughly 28 percent, and many jobs that are traditionally filled by young people are being filled by older workers who can’t find work elsewhere.

Brandon Smith has some suggestions about how teens can tackle their summer job search. He also says it’s critical for teens to have a some job experience before they go to college. That’s all in this week’s Working on GPB Radio.
