The North Paulding girls won their first state title, the Murray County girls got revenge, the Morgan County and Wheeler boys padded their trophy cases.

The season opener brings jitters in the most veteran football coach. These three can breathe a little easier after their opening-night wins. 

Four girls teams will try to defend their state titles when the GHSA holds its championships at the Macon Coliseum. Grayson, Maynard Jackson, Baldwin and Hebron Christian are out to make it two in a row.
