In the almost year since we last talked with Eddie 9V, he has toured all over Europe, gotten married on top of a mountain in Greece, written a new album, and played on legendary stages here in the US, including The Tabernacle in Atlanta. He stopped by the GPB studios to catch us up on his exciting 2023, share some laughs, and play some of his new music.

Eddie 9V: I got married on a top of a mountain in Greece, man. How lucky am I?

Chad Mason: In Santorini.

Eddie 9V: And this guy married us. He officiated it.

Jeremy Powell: Wait, you officiated it?

Chad Mason: I officiated on top of the mountain.

Eddie 9V: I was so glad that we were able to play Tabernacle, too.

Chad Mason: Yeah.

Eddie 9V: Because I've always. I've been to so many shows there, and I'm just to get to play that room. You know, I get to say that.

Chad Mason: I mean, that whole, you know, we played the Orange Peel in Asheville, which I've always wanted to play.

Eddie 9V: But even before that, I mean before like last before the summer, I mean, we played the Fillmore two nights with Galactic, uh, you know, the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco. And, like, I was hanging out in the backstage, you know, with, uh, the bass player of The Meters. You know, it's just a "pinch me" — pinch me, man. It's just crazy.
