GPB VP of News MaryLynn Ryan was honored Friday night as one of the recipients of the 2024 Silver Circle award by NATAS Southeast. The Silver Circle honors professionals who have worked 25 years or more in the television industry.

Also, the Gabby Awards were handed out by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters at their annual conference on Jekyll Island on Saturday night.

Hannah Goodin won "Best Sports Anchor" large market
Grant Blankenship won "Best Feature Story" large market. Read Grant's story here.
Peach Jam and Jeremy Powell won a Merit Award for "Best Podcast Series" Large Market Broadcaster.

The inspiration that is 'Jimmy Carter 100'

Arguably the only thing that may be more inspiring than the Jimmy Carter 100 benefit concert airing Oct. 1 on GPB-TV is that the former president will be watching.

That — as his grandson Jason Carter suggested at the beginning of the event — 100 years after James Earl Carter Jr. was born in Plains, Ga., he'll be watching from his family home in Plains the thousands in attendance who danced, cried and cheered during the tribute at the Fox Theatre.
