The one-stoplight town of Ellaville shuts down every Friday night to cheer on the Schley County football team. The Wildcat community is more excited than ever because head coach Darren Alford led the team to its first state championship appearance in school history last season. One of his star players, cornerback Jalewis Solomon, says this year they plan to win it all.

The 6-foot-1, 185-pound senior is the No. 15 athlete in the country and No. 26 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. After a lengthy recruiting process, Solomon decided to take his talents to Auburn next year, where he’ll join his brother Zykevious Walker on the Tigers defense. Until then, Solomon wants to bring a GHSA championship trophy back to his hometown.
