The University of Florida was the first Power 5 school to notice Portal High School senior Amir Jackson’s outstanding talent. The Gators offered him a scholarship to play tight end in January and then his college interest began to surge. Florida State, Miami, Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn and Alabama offered Jackson throughout the spring, but he stayed committed to the orange and blue.

The 6-foot-4, 223-pound prospect is the No. 6 athlete in the country and No. 16 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. He also plays basketball for the Panthers, where he averaged 13 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a junior.

Find out more about Jackson’s recruiting process and why he can’t wait to play in The Swamp in an interview with GPB’s Jon Nelson:
