The University of Georgia will have a track star joining its defense next season in Swainsboro High School safety Demello Jones. The multi-sport athlete earned gold at the Class 2A state track meet and placed seventh in the 100-meter dash.

The 6-foot-1, 176-pound senior is the No. 4 safety in the country and No. 12 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. Jones was offered by schools like Alabama, Tennessee, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Miami before he ultimately committed to the Dawgs.
