Georgia Bulldog legacy Jelani Thurman bleeds a different shade of red, scarlet to be exact. The Hughes tight end is committed to Ohio State and can’t wait to get to work in Columbus next season.

Both of Thurman’s parents played sports for the University of Georgia and went on to be professional athletes. His father Odell Thurman was a linebacker and a semifinalist for the 2004 Butkus Award. He was also a second-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2005 NFL Draft. His mom Kara Braxton played basketball and won two championships in the WNBA.

Now it’s Jelani’s time to shine! Measured at 6-foot-5, 230 pounds, the 4-star senior is the No. 4 tight end in the country, and No. 6 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite. He will join fellow tight end and Buckeye commit Ty Lockwood in the 2023 class.

Learn more about his family and how the senior is preparing for the next level in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin:
