Mykel Williams

The University of Georgia has flipped yet another top prospect in Hardaway defensive lineman Mykel Williams. The 6-foot-5, 255-pound senior is the No. 5 DL in the nation and No. 3 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Williams received almost 50 offers and was originally committed to Southern Cal before flipping to Georgia last month. The Trojans fired head coach Clay Helton in September, and with the lingering uncertainty of who would lead the team, Williams decided to reopen his recruitment. He recently went on visits to SEC powerhouses Auburn, Florida and Georgia, but ultimately decided he felt most at home in Athens.

Find out why Williams committed to the Dawgs and more about his recruiting process in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin.
