Marquis Groves-Killebrew, North Cobb

North Cobb High School is one of the leading contenders to make a state championship run after defending its Region 3-7A title with a 35-9 win over Marietta last Friday. Head coach Shane Queen and the Warriors have made it as far as the second round of the playoffs over the last three seasons but feel that this is their year to go further.

The odds are certainly in North Cobb’s favor as they boast a roster full of D1 talent that includes cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew, wide receiver De’Nylon Morrissette and quarterback Malachi Singleton.

Groves-Killebrew had nearly 40 offers on the table before deciding to commit to the University of Georgia in May 2020. Even though he’s held strong on his pledge to the Bulldogs, he kept his options open by visiting other schools this year. The 6-foot-1, 180-pound senior is the No. 14 cornerback in the country and No. 11 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Find out why Groves-Killebrew decided to stick with the Dawgs and who he wants to bring to Athens with him in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin:

Morrissette had over 30 offers and was heavily recruited by the University of Alabama. He ultimately decided that the Crimson Tide was not the right fit for him and his family, so he turned his attention to Georgia. It didn’t hurt that the Bulldogs got a big-time commitment from someone he grew up playing with in Rabun County 4-star quarterback Gunner Stockton. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound senior is the No. 34 wide receiver in the country and No. 21 overall player in the state, according to the 247Sports Composite.

Find out who else helped Morrissette commit to the Dawgs and more about his recruiting process an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin,

Singleton has eight offers on the table from Georgia, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, Miami, UCF, Louisville, NC State and Virginia Tech. He’s currently taking official visits and hopes more offers come rolling in soon. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound junior is the No. 24 quarterback in the country and No. 29 overall player in the state, for the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247 Sports Composite.

Find out when Singleton plans to commit and where he’s going to visit next in an interview with GPB’s Hannah Goodin:
