So…

How DID we get here…???

Mother Nature, certainly, had her say on Friday night- pushing some games to ties without overtimes and other games that were conceded at halftime (especially in Coweta County and in the Atlanta area) creating region title ties and coin flips for championships in the case of Blessed Trinity and Cedar Grove.

And, there were still instances where mini-games had to be played for playoff spots in northwest Georgia and the Columbus area…

Ever been to a mini-game…???

It’s two five minute quarters separated by a two minute break and the winner plays a third team for the positioning. In theory, a team could put together a ten minute drive, kick a field goal and the game would be over at 3-0.

That’s how they work… for real…

But most of the 192 spots will be figured out by the middle part of the week- when the power rankings come out for the single-A schools on the public and private side to fill it all out AFTER the mini-games wrap up 4A and 5A for us…

There were a few surprises, so let’s see how we got to this place in time…

Let’s start in south Georgia where Region 1-6A’s standings were being sorted out along with the region title in 2-A and Bainbridge’s work in quad-A that put them in the upper right part of your bracket.
