pollinators live

There's a lot of buzz about our next live exploration! In collaboration with the University of Georgia, GPB Education will be live streaming from the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens on May 9th at 10 AM ET. This half-hour show is aligned to Georgia science standards for students in grades 3-8.

During Georgia Pollinators Live Exploration, students will hear from a variety of experts as they discuss the important role pollinators play in our daily lives. Students will also better understand the life cycle of a pollinator, how pollination works, and products made from pollinated plants.

Students are encouraged to participate during the program by answering pop quizzes and submitting questions to pollinator experts. They can send their questions to education@gpb.org or use #PollinatorsLive on Twitter.

"GPB's Live Explorations are designed to showcase unique locations, careers, and phenomena right here in Georgia," says Mary Anne Lane, the writer and producer of GPB's Live Exploration series. "We are excited to partner with The University of Georgia to tell the story of pollinators and share ways students can help protect these very important creatures."

This program will be televised on GPB-TV and live streamed on gpb.org/pollinators on May 9th at 10 AM. Georgia Pollinators Live Exploration will be available on demand online after May 9th with supplemental classroom resources for grades K-12.
