Today’s students are media-savvy digital natives. They enjoy engaging with technology and seek it out in their “time off” outside of school. It makes good sense then, to utilize something we know they’re interested in while they’re in the classroom, too.

It’s October and the newest Paranormal movie is out and attracting a lot of attention (especially for something that is the fourth in a series). Students enjoy scary movies and ghost stories. I mean, I didn’t when I was a student, but it certainly seemed all of my peers did.

Georgia’s long, and sometimes messy, history lends itself to numerous ghost stories, especially from revolutionary and civil war periods. Using clips from Georgia Traveler, you can engage your students with media and the paranormal while educating them on their very own history.
