As Georgia educators expand the world for their students, class after class, we think they need a place to share…and learn. We are excited to introduce Classroom Conversations, a new podcast series presented by the Georgia Department of Education and GPB Education. The podcast launches January 10, 2022. Hosted by Emmy-award winning host, Ashley Mengwasser, Classroom Conversations is the platform for Georgia’s teachers where they can tune in and tune up their instructional strategies.

Each episode features teachers who are approaching the curriculum in innovative, impactful ways. With heart-warming anecdotes, creative teaching tips, and dynamic dialogue, Classroom Conversations is here to revitalize the work week.

"Never forget your why,” said LaTanya Clark, a healthcare science teacher at Macon’s Northeast High School. “We all had a why when we entered into the education field, and I believe this podcast will help remind educators of their why.” Mrs. Clark is a featured guest on Classroom Conversations

Our teachers are ready to “show their work” on topics including positive classroom climate, computer science, writing across the curriculum, the workforce pipeline, early childhood education, new math standards…and more.

"Especially over the past two years, teachers have demonstrated their creativity and resourcefulness when it comes to educating their students," said Laura Evans, Director of Education at Georgia Public Broadcasting. "One of the best resources out there is a fellow teacher, so we're excited to have a space that shares teacher voices from across Georgia."

“We’re thrilled to partner with GPB to elevate teacher voices in the Classroom Conversations podcast," said Justin Hill, Associate Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, and School Climate at GaDOE. "Every week we’ll all get to learn from classroom experience and check-in with teachers from all across the state.”

The first episode of Classroom Conversations will be available January 10, with new episodes available every Monday. Listen online at gpb.org/classroom-conversations or wherever you get your podcasts.
