Valdosta and Lowndes will get together tonight with both teams in the top 10. It will be the 49th time the “Winnersville Classic” has been played and this one is as big as any in recent memory.

DeKalb County’s Hallford Stadium was the site of a double-header tonight as No. 6 Stephenson “hosted” Newton and Southwest DeKalb met Dunwoody.

In a battle for the best Class 4A team in Cobb County, undefeated Pope took on undefeated Kell in an important Region 5-4A battle last Friday.

The Valdosta Wildcats program is in its first year under the direction of Coach Rance Gillespie and to date the Wildcats are perfect. The future of the Wildcats may end up being perfect too.
