Out in the Silence
A filmmaker's journey, and challenge, to LGBTQ equality in small town America.
Out in the Silence America ReFramed
When Joe Wilson announces he is to wed a man, controversy ignites his small hometown. Drawn back by a plea for help from the mother of a bullied gay teen, Wilson’s journey illustrates the challenges of being an outsider in a conservative environment and the transformation that is possible when those who have long been constrained by a traditional code of silence summon the courage to break it.
