"Reverse angle parking" is springing up in cities around the country. Now Macon is giving it a try. Tuesday the city painted new lines on two blocks of downtown Macon’s Third Street. Drivers must back into a space at a 60-degree angle to the roadway. The idea is to give drivers better visibility when pulling into the street.

Macon Mayor Robert Reichert says the redesign is safer for drivers and bicyclists. "Often times it’s so difficult if you’ve nosed in and somebody in a big SUV parks beside you there’s no way to see so you just have to back out in faith and wait for the horn to honk."

In Charlotte, the city called in a rap artist to create a song teaching people how to drive up and back into a spot. Online reviews from residents are mixed.
