Police in Carrollton said they've arrested at least 13 people in connection with a series of robberies and aggravated assaults near the University of West Georgia.

Police Capt. Chris Dobbs said most of the robberies happened in apartment complex parking lots. Dobbs said eight students have been targeted in the crimes in recent months and one was kidnapped, driven down the road and jumped from the car while it was moving.

Authorities say they're working with apartment managers to bolster security near the school and are continuing to investigate. Police say they expect to make additional arrests.
