Forecasters say a mixture of sleet and snow is expected to make travel treacherous in parts of the north Georgia mountains.

A winter weather advisory covered Rabun County in the northeast part of the state on Tuesday morning. The National Weather Service said snow could combine with rain and sleet in that area of the state before precipitation ends by mid-morning.

The weather service said 1 to 5 inches of snow could accumulate at elevations above 3,500 feet in far northeast Georgia.
