As SEC football powerhouses Georgia and Alabama look to play each other for a national championship berth, Georgia Dome officials are urging fans not to be duped by scalpers selling fake tickets.

Tickets for Saturday's SEC Championship game at the Georgia Dome were selling for hundreds of dollars online.

Authorities say criminals are looking to capitalize on the demand by selling counterfeit tickets.

A spokesman for the Georgia Dome said authentic tickets should have a glossy coating, a barcode and three different SEC holograms stamped onto them.

Authorities urge fans to use caution if a ticket deal seems too good to be true.

The arena will open a validation window Saturday morning for spectators wishing to check the authenticity of their tickets.
