The home team has finally won another game in its own ballpark in the World Series. The Houston Astros ended a five-game losing streak in Series games at Minute Maid Park with a 7-2 win over the Atlanta Braves in Game 2.

It is the first time for a home ballpark winner since 2018. All six games of last year's World Series were played at a neutral site in Arlington, Texas, when all postseason games were played in a bubble because of the pandemic. Washington beat Houston in a seven-game Series in 2019 when the visiting team won every game for the first time.

Now that they've accomplished a split in Houston, the Braves can win the World Series with three consecutive victories at home. Games 3, 4 and 5 are scheduled for this weekend in Atlanta.

Game 3 on Friday will be the first World Series contest played in Atlanta since 1999. The Braves have won 10 of their last 11 home games, including all five during the postseason.

There is a 50 percent chance of rain in the early weather forecast at Truist Park in Atlanta for Game 3 on Friday and Game 4 on Saturday, with temperatures in the mid-to-upper 50s.
