GHSA 2A Final: Callaway vs. Fitzgerald Football Fridays in Georgia
Charlie Dixon rushed for 229 yards on 27 carries, including a 69-yard TD run with two minutes remaining, to lift 6th ranked Callaway to a 22-17 upset of #1 ranked Fitzgerald in the 2-A state championship game. It’s the Cavaliers first state title. Fitzgerald, which got 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks from future Georgia commit E.J. Lightsey, lost its third title game in six years.
