Gov. Nathan Deal will host the second meeting of his Georgia competitiveness initiative, which focuses on job creation and a statewide economic development strategy.

The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in Atlanta at the Georgia Tech Conference Center.

The initiative is being coordinated with the Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

Deal announced the effort soon after taking office in January. It concentrates on attracting and keeping high-paying jobs in Georgia by focusing on infrastructure, workforce development, global commerce and government efficiency.

Regional meetings will be held to highlight diverse industries across Georgia and allow members to meet with business leaders to better understand local needs and perspectives.
