Mother's Day weekend is fast approaching, and in Savannah there is lots to do with mom. Marianne Ganem Poppell of Savannah Master Calendar has your guide.Marianne talks Mother's Day weekend events.

Marianne’s picks:

•  Start the weekend early with dinner at the 41st Covered Dish Supper and annual meeting with the Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy. Enjoy your food and live music from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Savannah Station; $5, free with covered dish. 
•  Celebrate hard workers and their employers at the 10th annual Low Country Down Syndrome Society Night of Champions. The event honors individuals and employers who ensure successful, inclusive workplaces. Held at the Savannah Convention Center, the event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday; $50.
•  Run, or walk, for a cause at the Make a Wish Georgia 5K/10K/15K Trail Run for Wishes. Experience beautiful scenery, delicious food, games, music and activities for all ages beginning 6:15 p.m. Friday at Skidaway Island State Park; $40 for 5K, $45 for 10K, $50 for 15K. 
•  Celebrate the first birthday of Two Tides Brewing Company and their support for local communities with food, beer and music by The Heavy Pets band all day from noon Saturday to midnight. 
•  Shop for a cause at the Broughton Street Kendra Scott with Kendra Scott Gives Back. On Saturday, a portion of the proceeds goes toward training southeastern guide dogs for military or anyone else who needs one. 
•  Say thanks to mom with brunch at Leoci's restaurant or other local restaurants on Mother's Day Sunday.
