The excessive heat is being blamed for three deaths in Middle Georgia.

An elderly couple was found dead in the yard of their farm in Cochran on Saturday. A third person died Monday in Twiggs County after suffering a heart attack. The coroner says heat was a factor.

Health officials are telling people to drink fluids, check on the elderly, and stay inside. But for construction worker Robert Metz staying indoors is not an option.

“It’s getting to be unbearable. It really, really is. But you know there ain’t…the way the economy is there ain’t nothing you can really do about it.”

Most of the state is under a heat advisory. The combination of heat and humidity are making it feel over 110 in some places.
